Books
Dr. Menick co–authored the book “Aesthetic Reconstruction of the Nose”, which many considered the “Bible of facial and nasal reconstruction”, with Gary Burget of Chicago, in 1999.
He recently updated his approach to reconstruction in his second book “Nasal Reconstruction – Art and Practice”, which outlines a unified and more comprehensive approach to pre-operative analysis, surgical planning and illustrates new techniques in nasal and facial reconstruction, which Dr. Menick developed and has taught all over the world over the past 15 years.
These advances have been published extensively in Plastic Surgery literature, including two award-winning papers acknowledged as the most important papers of the year, in 1990 and in 2003. Both medical papers received the James Barrett Brown Prize in Plastic Surgery “for advancement of knowledge in the field of plastic surgery” in their respective years from the American Association of Plastic Surgeons.

Quotes Regarding the New Book – Nasal Reconstruction Art and Practice
“Menick has now emerged as the world’s premier nasal reconstructionist. By following his passion for nasal reconstruction, Fred Menick has become the best in the history of medicine.”
-Burt Brent in Foreword of the book — Nasal Reconstruction: Art and Practice
“Many of the cases shown involve much more than just nasal reconstruction. They show what a superb Reconstructive Plastic Surgeon, with the inventiveness of Gillies , the eye of a Millard, and ,with newer modalities such as microsurgery and tissue expansion at his disposal, can accomplish. It is always inspiring to go back to the origins of nasal reconstruction — Gillies, Gillies and Millard, Millard- but Fred Menick, as shown again and again in his Magnum Opus, does it best of all.”
- S. Anthony Wolfe, M.D., Clinical Professor of Plastic Surgery, University of Miami School of Medicine and Chief of Plastic Surgery Miami Children’s Hospital
“Congratulations, I love it!”
-Stefan Hofer MD Phd Wharton Chair in Reconstructive Plastic Surgery University of Toronto
“It is really fabulous and, not unexpectedly, presented in such a well structured and thoughtful manner as to be truly valuable.”
-Bruce Bauer, Chief Division of Plastic Surgery, the Children’s Memorial Hospital Northwestern University
“I was just reviewing your beautiful book on nasal reconstruction and I would like to congratulate you for a superb publication.”
